I ran four miles. My pace was about 11:15 min/mile. My legs left tight and I had to stop to stretch my calves several times. Other than the legs... I felt pretty good. But with tight legs you'd think this would encourage me to stretch afterwards... but I felt so gross I got in the shower right away. I must learn to stretch more after runs.
I almost didn't run today. But all the sudden at about 6:15pm I thought... I'm gonna go for a run. So I did. I am really going to make an effort to run 2-3 times a week. Even if its just 2 miles. There is a quick 2 mile route that I could do. It's important that I stay active. I have been to lazy. Yes remind me that I have a newborn and that it is okay that I am not doing intense workouts. But in reality... I could probably squeeze in more runs... especially shorter ones like 2 miles.
I really wish I had my camera on my run today. I saw the funniest thing and it was pretty cute too. I was about half to a block away from the intersection and I couldn't figure out why no cars were going anywhere. Then I see it. A duck. Crossing the street. Not only was it crossing the street but it was following the law because it was crossing the street in the crosswalk. Following her were several baby ducklings! Aweeee! So funny that they were in the crosswalk too! It kinda looked like this....

Ducks are pretty cool. They've never gotten angry when I run past them when their babies are around. Geese... now thats another story. I remember this one time I almost got eaten by two geese. Okay not really but they hissed at me and I thought I was going to be attacked. There was no way I could go around either. One side of me had trees and brush.... the other side had a lake. I went past them suuuuper slow. All the while this HIIIIIIISSSSED.

Have you ever been hissed at by a goose? Ever been chased? Bitten?
Did you run today?

Aww, I love seeing baby ducks! I only see them swimming in the marsh behind our house, but we have some goslings. I ran by them the other day and they just ran away, instead of me getting hissed at.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have some more good runs soon! :)
My normal 2 mile route goes past the duck pond and they are always annoyed by me. There are babies but I almost never see them. They must be hidden somewhere.
ReplyDeleteGeese are so mean! Living on a lake I see them all the time and they're crazy! Good for you for getting out and running though!
