3. I went back to work and Isaac went to daycare. ONE OF THE HARDEST DAY OF MY LIFE. When I was getting Isaac ready for the day (and myself) I was doing fine. We were all ready and had 10 minutes to go. I decided 10 minutes of snuggle time was needed. When the little dude smiled at me... I LOST IT! I cried on and off for the next hour after that.
4. I do like being back to work because its nice to be around and talk to adults on a regular basis. But it's hard too because I feel like I don't get to see Isaac very much. My schedule changes monthly but basically he's at daycare for over 9 hours. I work 8 hours and have an hour lunch. When I pick him up I have a few hours before its bedtime.
5. Being a working mom is hard. You have to juggle getting you and baby ready, working, housework, cooking, taking care of baby, getting lunches ready for the follow day, taking care of Isaac's dirty diapers, laundry, getting Isaac's bottles ready for daycare and other various tasks. I feel like there are not enough hours in a day. This the second reason for the lack of posting. But this week I decided to make ALL my lunches for the week on Sunday. I made five salads and cut up five little containers of strawberries. Now I just have to grab what I need for lunches/snacks and throw it in my lunch box. Nothing will need to be prepared. I will still need to make Dan's lunch. I normally make him a sandwich and we worry that the sandwiches will get soggy if I make them ahead of time. But his lunches take me about 2 minutes to make. My salads were taking me forever.
6. Isaac's daycare is only 1.5 blocks away. So I could go see him on my lunch, which I might do eventually but I think it might be to hard for me right now.
7. Our daycare does allow cloth diapers but Isaac is the first baby to ever have them. It has been learning process and he has at least two blowouts a day. This confuses me because we rarely have blowouts at home. At first I thought it was because they weren't changing him enough. So I asked them to change him more often. He still had blowouts. I thought it was because they weren't putting them on correctly. So I should them how. He still had blowouts. I thought maybe his diapers were still getting to wet (while they changed him more like I asked I still think I change him more often at home) so I put in an extra insert. He had a blow out. I haven't given the extra inserts enough tries and it's only been a week. So I hope it gets better.
8. The other day I asked Isaac if he had any girlfriends at daycare. He gave me the biggest smile. He loves telling me about his day. He coos all the time.
9. We finally got a treadmill. It's actually my parents and they didn't want it. So they gave it to me (for Christmas this past year). They were finally able to get it here and I used it for the first time today. With Dan's long hours and with Isaac being too little for the jogging stroller this will really be the only way I can run for the time being. Runs outside aren't going to happen as often as I'd like.
10. Dan turn 30. He's old! We went out to eat and finally got another family photo. We have been wanting to take one but kept forgetting.
11. First Father's Day! This is what I got him. I went and got the letters and took the photos of Isaac. Then I made the frame/plaque at Shutterfly. My brother works for Shutterfly so I like to order stuff from there.
12. I have made a few new recipes. I think i'll put them all in one post sometime this week.
13. Isaac hasn't been weighed in two weeks. He gets weighed tomorrow. My mom, dad, Dan and I all guessed what we thought he'd weigh. I was the highest at 11 pounds 4 ounces. But I am starting to second guess myself.
14. Isaac is trying really really really hard to suck his thumb. He gets it every once in awhile. We don't mind if he does it. I think he'll be one happy baby (I guess even happier than he is now) when he can get it consistently because then he'll be able to soothe himself when he gets fussy.
How has the last two weeks been for you?

Jana that Father's day gift was awesome! I love that you got real letters from a craft store and did that.
ReplyDeleteHope you only bought one letter D no too :o)
Anyway I'm impressed with your craftiness!
Also, I love your hair! And on the whole you look so good. It looks like you've already dropped all the pregnancy weight. How amazing! Many will be jealous!
Love your haircut!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry it's been hard getting back to work. It does get easier, as you get into the swing of things and figure out how to juggle it all (and what to just drop).
I loved reading all the updates! Happy Birthday Dan! I love the frame you made him :) What does your bro do at Shutterfly?
ReplyDeleteOne of my best friends lives in NYC and has a 14-mo-old she takes to daycare and I don't know how she gets it all done! She came to visit me a few weekends ago (by herself!) and all the prep work she had to do for the weekend was crazy.
So happy you have a treadmill to use! :)
LOVE the new cut! I give you props for being able to stay on top of everything, I can't and I'm not even working!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how your daycare is having so much trouble. We've never had a blowout in cloth and the kid even got poop in her belly button today (don't care as long as it's in the diaper!). Anyways, the short hair looks great on you!
