Isaac is 7 months old!

Let's move on from the fact that it's been a month since i've blogged.  I needed a break. I am back and hope to be posting more regularly.

My little guy is 7 months old. 6 months was a little rough. We found out that his screaming fits from last month was due to the fact that he wasn't eating enough. It took him a full month to let us know that he needed more. He had only gained 1.5 ounces in a month. We were ordered told to increase the amount of solids we were giving him and give him more ounces in his bottles at daycare. My worst fear was also confirmed. I was having a major supply issue when it came to providing for him. It was tough for awhile there. I wasn't making enough for his bottles at daycare and when it came to nursing he was striking because he wasn't getting enough from me. We had to dip into the freezer stash (thank god we have an over abundance of milk) many times. I tried a few different things to help with the milk issue and after a few weeks I was back to making enough on most days.  Sometimes he still prefers the bottle over nursing which makes me sad but I am okay with it. Once we gave him more solids and more milk he started gaining again. Unfortunately, I fear that too much running is what caused the milk supply to tank. So I've cut back on that quite a bit. Only running every once in awhile. I will get back to it though.

Isaac is very active. He loves rolling around. He can finally roll both ways and it's almost time to really start baby proofing the house because he can roll from one side of the living room to the other (ok we have a smaller living room). His favorite toy is his jumperoo or extrosaucer (i've never really been able to figure out what the difference is). He loves to jump and and play in that thing. As seen in this video.

He has developed a fear of strangers. He will start to cry if someone he is not familiar with holds him. He is recognizing mom and dad. My favorite thing in the world is the smiles he gives me or Dan when he sees us.

He's still a really good sleeper.  We went through a few days where he was not sleeping the best but overall he's still sleeping really great. He's up maybe once a night (sometimes twice) and a simple soothe with his pacifier puts him right back to sleep. He's also starting to find the pacifier on his own which is awesome.

Isaac is still working on crawling. He hasn't master getting himself on all fours but I am okay with this. He's growing up so fast!

No teeth yet. I keep thinking he's teething but no teeth have popped through yet. I am okay with this too.

This week he started sitting up by himself (as you can see from the photo above). He was doing this before in small spurts of a few seconds but now he's able to do it for minutes at a time. He's still a little shaky and wobbly. So I like to sit near him doing it.

He loves to giggle but usually only when Daddy is tickling him.

He's enjoyed several Vikings games thus far!

I'm ready for some football mom!

Watching the game with mom!

He also tried and loved his johnny jump

He had his first real cold which turned into an ear infection. He shared it with mommy (thanks buddy!) We are about half way through the cold in the photo of us together that is why I look exhausted.  We had a runny nose, a bad cough, and sore throat (I am assuming he had one). The cold when into my eyes, which one doctors said was allergies... juries still out on that one for me I think.

I love being a mom.  Running, blogging, cooking, baking.... it's all kind of taken a backseat for now. Being a working mom is really hard. The good news is that Dan got a job closer to home... in our town actually... and he's been able to help out more and we've been able to spend more time as a family which has been nice.  The running will come back... in time...

  2. What a cutie!!! He's getting so big! He's definitely lost the "newborn" look!

  3. I love baby giggles. I am also slacking majorly on the running and I only work part-time. I can't imagine doing it while working full-time. I think whatever you are fitting in is still an awesome accomplishment!

  4. He is so big! And so adorable! I haven't been running much, either. I've heard things about loosing supply while running, and I just don't want to chance it. That's why I haven't been so great on operation loosing baby weight, just because I don't want to cut out too much and have it affect (or effect?) my supply.
