Three Things Thursday

1.  I've always thought I was a good cook but lately I'm not so sure.  I've tried a few new recipes and had a few old ones. I've pureed them and tried giving them to Isaac. He normally makes a face similar to this.

Seriously mommy. What is this stuff you are feeding me!

Or he does this thing where he gags. Like this.

Gag me!

He'll usually takes one or two bites then refuses to open his mouth. He clamps his mouth shut. It's so funny! Dan and I have had many laughs. But I'm totally joking. I am a good cook. Isaac is just used to having one thing at a time. Like just sweet potatoes or just green beans. He's not used to having multiple flavors (yep my food is flavorful! haha) all at one time. We'll keep trying though.

2.  I gave blood for the first time in.... 3 years today. My work was having a blood drive and I decided to participate. It was a small blood drive which is different than I am used to. I've always gone to blood drives that were indoors. Like set up in a large room. This time it was in the bloodmobile! So I gave blood in a bus! It looked something like this.

It took me 6 minutes and 7 seconds to fill up my bag. I really should start donating blood more often.

3. Isaac is so so so close to crawling. Yes. I have been saying this for a month. But in the process he has started to crawl backwards. It's kind of funny really. He sees something he wants that is in front of him and he sometimes manages to get to his knees. When he tries to push himself up he ends up pushing himself backwards. Or when he tries to get to his knees he pushes himself backwards too. He can get around through. He can sorta scoots and does an awesome job of rolling around. His scooting really isn't the "army crawl" It's hard to describe. Let's just say it won't be long before he's really on the move!

  2. He will be on the move very soon! And I have no doubt that he'll eventually come to appreciate your cooking. :)

  3. I'm hopefully giving blood today for the first time ever. After many tries, I've always been turned away for low blood pressure, travel to "dangerous places", low iron, etc. However, I've been loading up on iron this week, I haven't traveled in a while, and I plan to take running lap around the building before going in to "raise my blood pressure." I'm determined to donate!

Anyway I just thought it was coincidental that we're both giving blood the same week! My appointment is at 5pm pacific time, wish me luck.
