I've had been slacking on my running lately but I've been trying to go a few times a week. Weather has not cooperated much the last few weeks. So i've been exiled to the treadmill for some of those runs. We did install the shelf so I can watch movies or tv shows while I am running. I am not a fan of treadmill running. I never have been, so the movie and tv watching helps. The treadmill we have is old and it has carpet under it. I feel like the speed of the treadmill is off because of these factors. Probably more so because it sits on carpet but i'm not sure. Regardless, I feel like I am running faster than it says I am. I struggle with keeping the pace at 11:30-12:00 min/mile which is odd considering my pace has been faster outside...even before we even got the treadmill. I've never felt this way on other treadmills at the gym. But alas. I still use it because it works. Even if the speed is off a bit.
The last two days the weather has been nice. The temperatures have been cool and I've been able to run outside. Imagine my surprise when my pace was about 10:30 min/mile. Exciting considering thats just a bit slower than were I was before I got pregnant. I ran 4 miles yesterday and took it easy and did two miles today. My legs were sore from yesterdays run.
I have plans to run a 10K in August and a mud run 5K in September. I'd like to run a half in October but we'll see....
In other news... the town is buzzing. The Minnesota Vikings are in town and training camp started on Friday. Isaac decided to celebrate by wearing one of his favorite onesies.
Last year there were several times I would run past the camp and the dorms the Vikings stayed in. I saw a few players heading to the campus gym or walking around the campus. I might have to try a run around the campus before training camp ends. Or maybe a stroller walk.
Oh and can someone please tell me where the month of July went? Isaac will be 5 months old a week from today. What the heck! Slow down buddy!
